Legislation came into force on 1 October 2011, giving agency workers the same entitlement to the same basic employment and working conditions (pay, annual leave, rest breaks etc) as if they had been recruited directly, if and when they complete a qualifying period of 12weeks in the same job.
In essence after 12 weeks on the job and agency worker’s pay and conditions should be the same as directly hired employees.
From 1st October 2011, agency workers will also be entitled to access to facilities and information on job vacancies from Day 1 of their assignment.
